From modest beginnings in 1979, Inter-Rail Group has grown to become one of the premier automobile handlers in the nation. This dedication to quality for our customers as well as employees has benefited Inter-Rail from its inception. When first founded, Inter-Rail managed just one facility located in Walbridge, Ohio with volumes under 6,000 automobiles a year. However, Inter-Rail would not stay small for long, and as its reputation for quality increased, Inter-Rail's business opportunities expanded.

By 1990 we managed 11 facilities in several states and handled over 900,000 vehicles per year. Ambitious for us at the time, our slogan at the annual managers' meeting was "1.5 in 95" as we hoped to achieve volumes of 1.5 million in the following five years.

Exceeding that goal less than three years later, we have since more than tripled in size without diminishing our commitment to excellence. In fact, in 1999 we achieved one of the highest stamps of quality in the industry, ISO-9002 certification. In 2003, we improved quality standards to ISO 9001-2000.Even with our unprecedented growth, we have continually attained some of the highest American Association of Railroad audit scores, which independently assess quality within the industry.

Today we handle over 4 million vehicles a year, and provide other services such as railcar repair and switching in conjunction with our core service of multilevel railcar loading and unloading. Our customers are not only some of the largest railroads in the nation but automobile manufactures as well.
