Auto-Terminal Services

Recognized with several prestigious awards, Inter-Rail specializes in the loading and unloading of vehicles from multilevel railcars. Our employees are trained to manage every step of the process to assure the safest handling of automobiles so that vehicles leave our possession in the same condition in which we received them, fresh from the assembly line and damage free.

This level of service requires attention to detail, skilled management of railcars, and a focus towards safety; however, we have had years of experience to hone our skills. Industrial Switching Services

At many of our terminals, Inter-Rail crews safely and efficiently switch more than 800 multilevel railcars a day. That is more than 280,000 railcars a year, and no rail shipments are more susceptible to damage than new vehicles where smooth switching is a must. As a result, Inter-Rail has developed an expertise that is unique in the industry, and where our partnerships with railroads and shippers enable us to provide the best and most cost-efficient service.

At Inter-Rail we have invested in locomotives, crews and information technology so that our customers can benefit from our expertise without having to invest in their own. With a focus on training, our safety minded crews attend switching certification classes so that they will deliver outstanding service to our customers.

Railcar Repairs

At the repair facilities that Inter-Rail serves, all repairs are performed according to Federal Railroad Administration standards and are billed through the AAR system. Consequently, our customers can be assured that repairs are performed in the same meticulous manner within which we manage all our services, quality is the top priority.
